Multiple Issues with “BlompGo” — Is This Even an Official Product?

Post by vashidoki » Fri Sep 12, 2025 3:39 am

Hi everyone,

I’ve been trying to use BlompGo after seeing the link on Blomp’s official dashboard — but I’m running into serious problems. And now I’m starting to wonder if this app is even officially supported anymore.

1. Broken Download Link
On the Blomp homepage (https://www.blomp.com ), under “Get Your Z: Drive Now!”, there’s a clear button:

“Download BlompGo for Windows 8 and 10”

Clicking it leads to:

Not Found
The requested URL was not found on this server.
Apache/2.4.65 (Ubuntu) Server at www.blomp.com Port 443

I checked — this has been reported before in old forum threads, but no official fix or explanation was given.
Eventually, I found a reference to BlompGo 2.5.2 in an old discussion and downloaded it manually from a third-party link. Installed it. But… is this even the real thing?

2. No Settings, No Tray Control
Installation completed without errors. I logged in with my email, set my sync folder (C:\1), and confirmed everything.
But here’s the issue:

The system tray icon didn’t appear at first.
After restarting the app, it showed up — but right-clicking it gives only two options: Exit and Logout.
No settings menu. No sync status. No logs. No way to check if it’s even connected.
This feels like a half-baked client — not a full desktop sync tool.

3. Syncing Just Doesn’t Work
I dropped a test file into C:\1.
→ Nothing appeared in my Blomp cloud account.

I created a new folder in the web interface.
→ It never showed up locally.

I rebooted the PC.
→ BlompGo does not auto-start, even though it should. I had to manually add it to Startup.
Still: zero sync activity. Files don’t upload. Folders don’t download. The app just sits there silently.

My Conclusion
This feels like abandoned software.

The official website promotes Blomp as a modern, secure, reliable cloud backup — but BlompGo is nowhere to be found in their current download section.
The only downloads listed are Blomp for Windows, Mac, and Linux — not “BlompGo”.
Why is that broken “Download BlompGo” button still live on the dashboard?
Why is there so little documentation? Why do we have to dig through old forum posts to find a working installer?
It gives the impression that Blomp tried to retire BlompGo due to instability — but forgot to remove the link. Or worse — they’re still supporting it as a legacy product, and nobody’s fixing it.

I’m now switching to Blomp for Windows (the official desktop app).
If anyone else has experience with BlompLive (is that a thing?) — please share. I’m hoping the official client works better than this ghost of a program.

Anybody else run into this? Has anyone successfully used BlompGo in the last 6 months? I’d love to know I’m not alone here.

Thanks!
